Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an initial appointment?

You can book a free 15-minute consultation call directly through our website, or you can email/call the office. This allows us to briefly discuss your needs and ensure we're a good fit.

I don't have insurance or can't afford the full cost of therapy. Do you offer a sliding scale program?

Yes, we do! We are committed to making therapy accessible. We offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced rate based on a sliding scale program. To determine your discounted rate, you will be required to provide proof of income (e.g., recent pay stubs or tax returns) during the initial intake process. Please mention your interest in the sliding scale when you book your consultation.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours' notice for all cancellations or rescheduling requests. Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged a late fee.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

We offer both in-person sessions at our office in Brandon and secure telehealth (video) sessions for residents of Mississippi.

What if I don't feel a connection with my therapist?

It is perfectly normal to feel this way, and finding the right therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor for success. Therapy is a collaborative, professional relationship, and sometimes the fit isn't quite right. We encourage you to first bring up your concerns directly with your therapist. They are trained professionals who understand the importance of this relationship and can explore what is causing the disconnect. Sometimes, simply discussing it can improve the dynamic. However, if you feel you need a change, we will gladly assist you with a referral. We can help you find another therapist whose style, specialization, or approach may be a better match for your needs. Your well-being is the top priority.

What should I expect in the first session (Intake)?

The first session is primarily an intake appointment designed to gather essential information and establish our working relationship. We will focus on three key areas: first, we'll review confidentiality and office policies to ensure you understand your rights and our procedures. Second, we will discuss your background, history, and current challenges so I can gain a clear picture of your situation. Finally, we will work together to identify your primary goals and what you hope to gain from therapy.
